Christmas update

Hi everyone! As you may know, I've been closed for a few weeks now. Just after Firebreak I had a couple of things go wrong and then to be completely honest had a massive wobble about the new (now old!) restrictions. I won't bore you any further with my self pity as I know we're all fed up by now, but I went to visit my brother who I hadn't seen in almost a year, and now I'm back with fresh motivation and of course, Christmas Spirit!

So, what's on at Caffi Kiki this festive season? Well it's obviously not going to be the Christmas any of us hoped for, but I hope you'll join me in bringing a bit of Greek tradition to your celebrations this year!

New Year's Eve

The Greek festive season, just like every other holiday, is all about food and family. But mostly food. New Year is a bigger celebration than Christmas in Greece, and Greeks celebrate by staying at home with their families and playing card games...So it's the perfect time to try celebrating New Year like a Greek!

I'm here to help you with that, as I'm sure by the 31st you'll all be sick of the sight of your kitchens!

I'm offering a 3 course New Years feast for 2 people, with a free bottle of Prosecco for just £45. This menu includes some Caffi Kiki classics (shout out to my Bekre Meze crew!) but also some traditional Greek Christmas recipes like lemon pork stew. (If you would like to learn about Greek food and traditions at this time of the year, check out this blog post.)

This menu will need to be ordered in advance. As usual, Covid-19 regulations will be in place so I will be allocating 10 minute pick-up slots for every order, so please try and order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment (Especially for larger orders)

This weekend

In the meantime, I will also be open this weekend (18th-19th) with my usual takeaway fare- again please try and order sooner rather than later as slots are limited and early slots tend to fill up fast. Just drop me a text or call on 07450325119 to order, or message on Facebook/ Instagram.

Christmas Eve Deliveries

I've also had requests for trays of Nutella Baklava and other treats, so will be taking orders for anything (within reason!) that I can make and deliver locally on the 24th to help bring a bit of Greek sparkle to your Christmas! I will post a price list shortly, but am also open to requests if you want something specific for your small gathering then get in touch and we can work out a price etc.

Byw. Bod Gift Vouchers

One great thing to happen this year has been seeing local businesses brought together by Byw.Bod, a group of self-employed likeminded people in the area. I'm really excited to be part of their Gift Voucher scheme along with 17 other local businesses. These vouchers are the perfect gift for anyone as they can be used for bespoke local experiences, local food and drink, gifts or even just a weekly shop. You can use these vouchers for a takeaway, or get in touch if you would like a tailor made Caffi Kiki voucher.

Please get in touch with any questions, orders or comments- and if I don't see you, have a lovely, safe and merry Christmas- Nadolig Llawen- Kala Christouyenna!

Ps. If you would like to keep up to date with what's going on at Caffi Kiki (and receive the odd blog post about Greek food, history and traditions) remember to subscribe below :)
